"So what is this you may be asking. Looks like a normal suit of armor, but with a rib cage for the torso. It also seems to have glowing crystals that emanate a glowing, eerie aura. What dark and mysterious sorcery has brought about such a machination." Well, this is the culmination of an idea that had been tumbling around in my head for years. It originally started as a halloween costume design, and after so much procrastination I finally sat down and said "Okay, it's time to do this."
When I built this suit, I kinda decided to add lights on the fly. I mean, the character is a member of the undead after all and it does need something to add that extra flare. I used tea lights which are a simply on/off switch and I swapped out the LED's. They simply slide into a pocket(s) on the inside of the armor.
What I have to say about this project in a nutshell. I had a lot of fun, as well as frustrations. I learned new tricks, and refined old ones. The experience that it has taught me is priceless, and I look forward to reapplying those skills in future work.

Okay, so the story goes something like this. back in 2015 two good friends of mine saw my interest in costume making and decided to kidnap...erh...I mean invite me to magfest 2016. Naturally you can see how excited I was to attend my first convention ever and I made it a personal goal to set about making SOMETHING to wear. I didnt know what, but I had to make a costume of some variety.
I knew I didn't have long to put this together, what with magfest steadily approaching. I had about a month to design, fabricate, and paint this outfit so I made haste. Every day I would put in 3-4 hours of work both before and after I went to work with very little sleep in between. I tried to add as much detail as I could and It really came down to the last second when I finally go around to painting. Literally. I finished the morning of our trip to the convention.
